How do ventilation curtains work?
Ventilation curtains represent a type of artificial ventilation, which became widespread on farms in different countries and different climate zones. They help to make cowsheds lighter, better ventilated and comfortable.
The design is as simple as possible
The base material is canvas made of synthetic fabric, woven polyethylene. It is put between pipes and inserted into special grooves, which enables easy control.
Restriction aluminum tubes, from which the frame is assembled, are manufactured lightweight and carefully protected against corrosion.
Ropes, made of stainless steel help to avoid sailage effect and premature deterioration. They fix the fabric from both sides – external in internal.
The canvases are equipped with U-shaped boxes to prevent wind blowing and exposure to snow and rain.
The metal mesh is installed from the internal side of the canvas. It protects the premises from birds and insects. It also stabilizes the position of the canvas in windy weather. It breaks up air flows and eliminates draughts.
The curtain can open from the top downwards, from the bottom upwards, or can be rolled up onto a pipe in the center. Depending on the task assigned, you can choose from several control options: manual, electric of fully automatic. The latter variant involves setting up rain and wind sensor alongside climate control, which will regulate up to which height to lower the canvas in order to ventilate a cowshed.
